Venue notes: Ritz, Stockholm

Now apparently defunct, Club Ritz was Stockholm's premier rock venue throughout most of the 80s. There has been some confusion about the actual name of the club; trade lists have long identified the 11 Sep 1985 Hüsker Dü show venue as "The Ghetto." Herra Gee, who attended the show, provides the explanation: "I just wanted to note that the venue was a club called Ritz, in which, on Wednesday nights in autumn 85, operated a club night called Ghetto (I remember seeing Guadalcanal Diary and Gun Club there too). I don't know if Ritz is still up and running, and in which circumstances. Last time I visited (ooh... in 89?) they were running an Acid House night.... Ritz was located near the Stockholm city centre, underground right by a subway station."
