Venue notes: Madison Square Garden, PhoenixFull name was Madison Square Garden Boxing Gymnasium. Opened in 1929, shut down in the mid-80s, and demolished in Sep 2005 despite the efforts of preservationists. Seating capacity was 2000. It was primarily a boxing and wrestling venue, but also a concert venue (Duane Eddy got his start here). During the punk era, bands would perform in the wrestling ring. There seems to be some confusion about the location: one flyer lists the address as 3750 E. Van Buren, another source says 1755 W.
