Venue notes: Sam's Club, Dayton OHDefunct punk club formerly located at 35 W. 5th St in downtown Dayton. Its heyday seems to have been the early 80s. Sometime thereafter, the building was demolished and the site converted to a parking lot. Correspondent Scott Nuckles writes in Dec 2009: "Sam's was a small club, with the stage at the back of the room and the bar along the right wall, as best I can remember. In the '70s the name of the place was Sam's Bar & Grill... maybe it was that in the '80s and 'Sam's' was just shorthand. I don't know if they had other types of bands in the '70s, but I know they regularly featured bluegrass, evidently expanding into the rock/punk realm in the early '80s."[Do you have more information about this venue?
